Title: 1967 RSSS M35, 10 ro 12 bolt?
Post by: myblue67 on February 23, 2013, 09:29:09 PM
I have a nearly orignal 67 RSSS Conv with a powerglide and 10 bolt rear end. I always thought the original 12 bolt was MIA until I came across some info in Hemmings which indicated that a 67 350 SS with a powerglide only came with a 10 bolt. Can anyone verify this for me?

I'd expect a 12-bolt. http://www.camaros.org/suspen.shtml#12-Bolt
What's the car's build date and what's the axle code?

took a little paint removal....

the axel code is PW 0123G_ with a casting date of L276

The trim tag build date is 01A, while the dates appear to be within a couple weeks of each other, it appears there is some offset in time, would that be expected or is this not the original rear end?

The axle is about a month late, so it's not original. It can't be after the car was built.

Thanks for the help, one last question,... there is a 12 bolt on ebay right now (and the reason for my recent questions) which ends today. Its relatively close to where I live and somewhat hard to overlook. Thoughts on applicability and risk?

ORIGINAL 67 CAMARO Z 28 396 SS 12 BOLT POSI REAR END,

Thanks again for the help..

Here's the Ebay link...

If you're trying to restore the car, this axle is even later than the one you have now.

Don't see many 67 12-bolts. Should have monoleaf brackets and probably a radius rod bracket.

Most 67 L48 M35 cars had a 3.31 axle, btw.

Since Paul just added the link:
Ouch on the price. Not sure the going rate though.
Too glossy, IMO. :)
