Feature Car: December 2017/January 2018

1968 Camaro Z28, owned by Joe Iaccino

This Corvette Bronze 1968 Camaro was built the 5th week of February at the Los Angeles vehicle assembly plant. It was born with the Z/28 engine option, M21 Muncie transmission and 4.56 positraction rear axle. It was sold new in Tucson, Arizona.

Joe became the 9th owner in March of 1976. At that time, the original engine and transmission were gone. No doubt the 4.56 rear end had something to do with those being missing. Here are a couple of pics from "back in the day". These photos show it still in factory paint.

Over the years the car was raced, including local drag strips. But Joe always had the mindset of restoring it back as close to original as possible, even though the original engine was not with the car.

The car has all of its original glass and sheet metal. During the restoration, headrests, style trim, power steering and a tilt column were added.

Joe says "The CRG has been a great help with the two cars I own. I have had sixteen 1st generation Camaros over the years. I kept the first one and the last one". You can see Joe on the forum as X66 714, the handle he adapted from his other Camaro.

Joe - Thank You for submitting your photos and some of the history of your car!
