Pontiac Trans am info?
« on: July 22, 2012, 01:21:18 AM »
I was wondering if anyone had any info on this specific pontiac-powered Trans Am car that I saw in my issue of HPP.

The caption in the article states:
Quote
The Pontiac Special Projects team members pooled their money to buy a ’71 Firebird and turned it into this 303-powered road racer. It was the only Pontiac-engine car to ever win a Trans-Am series race.

I know this isn't a Chevy related question, but I have surfed this site for a few months and am astonished at the amount of detailed knowledge on this site.
I am curious of the history of this car if there is any to tell, and thought if anyone could tell me it, it'd be some of the members here.

Thank you.
Nick

Pleasure to have you here, and asking questions.  Here is a past forum message you may find interesting:

And if you want to find more info, I'd imagine that a search for:

  "Herb Adams Firebird"
  "Milt Minter Firebird"

.. On both this forum and the web would serve your interest well.

I'd provide more, but searching and composing messages from this "smart phone" is limiting.

Welcome to the forum, Trans man.
The computer I'm at right now has a very poor screen, but i believe those are Motor Wheel Spyders in  the photo. There is a Trans-am wheel topic here:
