67 repo door skin experience?
« on: May 26, 2012, 09:00:46 PM »
What I thought would be a routine door skin replacement on my left door turned out to be a surprise once I removed the original skin and went to install the NOS one.
A spare L&R 67 NOS set I bought in the mid-80's and stored since then turned out to be a mis-matched set. The right skin is for a '67 but the left is for a '68 Camaro so that is useless to me.  :o
Looking for a NOS panel on ebay averages $500. That's an expensive price to pay for a GM sticker on the inside.
Has anyone installed either a repo skin or a complete repo door assembly? If so I would love to hear your experiences on fit and quality.
I am looking at Dynacorn and they boast of superior repo parts but then most repo places do.

Thank you,
Mike

Mike I had to buy quarter panels to cut patch panels out of and the AMD quarters were excellent. Heavy gauge metal. As for fit we only used small sections and the contour was spot on but I can't say how the over all fit would be but they looked good.

Thanks Daniel. I may go with the whole door shell from dii being their are no P/N's stamped into it and I checked out the ribbing and it's the same as the original door.
Either way if I get the skin or whole door, I'll post my results about it for future reference.
