Mike

I asked because of the under body overspray spray color.

Thanks!

Overseas special order-vietnam. Note 500.00 [collect] price on total due to 500.00 serviceman discount. car located at central chevrolet and gone thru applegate. Even has original salesman business card with overseas info. POP in overseas gm name  not owner.    24.50 refund was due to the fact that it took so long to locate the car, the spoiler package became part of the z28 option, so the option price was returned.

Yes, the irony of it is that because I never took any detailed pics when advertising it ,i didnt know how nice it was and buyers  felt I didnt take pics because i was hiding something.  Those who know me know I never had this car 1 inch off the ground in  6 years and I didnt even look at it when I bought it       I am thrilled I didnt see these pics AFTER it sold.  I had the dusk blue survivor as well, and as stunning as that car was,the person I bought both cars from told me to take a closer look at this car and keep it. He was right

Very nice, I hope you continue to document the date codes and post the pictures on here. From the pictures I saw of the car it looked like a very good example of a survivor car.

original white Paint runs down the firewall on passenger side, this is a pic of the floor facing the ground  right as it meets the lowest part of the firewall. [paint ran down the firewall and instead of dripping on the ground  ran around the bottom of the floor and down the floor a few inces toward back of car. Almost as if it as painted with the front of the car raised

Are you taking inventory of the car, and original finishes, or are you taking the car all apart?

Had to take trans out to fix rear O ring leak. Im not taking anything apart other than what is related to that. Reverse gear looks nos on a 43 year old car! changed only the 3 O rings and rear seal. Leak is gone.

looks like some of the shifter parts may have been changed
on the trans levers , it looks like someone used the Hurst type clip which ruins the original molded rubber bushing
The trans lever rubber bushing should look like the rubber on the shifter levers
Did it have washers and cotter pins on the shifter end of the rods?
the rubber on the shifter levers looks to be in very good shape

On the shifter mount plate the two hex bolts look correct but the 3rd bolt is normally a philps button head screw which is needed for clearance

On the side of the shifter , should be a number with a date code

the car looks to be in great shape

I noticed in one of your replies you said the dist was a 111480 dated 9A20 (Jan 20 1969) and the engine build date was v0922DZ (Sept 22 1968?), something doesn't sound right.

0922 is the engine assembly date. The block and or heads casting date would tell if it is a 68 or 69. Since the distributors were made in batches, I am not sure if a 8 month sepearation between the dist date and the engine assembly is unusual or not, but the rear is also a 09 15 assembly date which is correct.

Build date is Sept 69 not 68. Also has a 6000/7000 tach, most info out there says the changeover to 6000/8000 took place much earlier. havent had a chance to look under the dash as of yet for the harness codes   None of the items were ever changed as per the original owner.   .
