Fwiw my 67 convt. w/standard black interior & RPO Z23 came with the (chrome looking) bright metal door knobs. It's entirely possible that someone changed them out but I have my doubts. http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=4947.0

I agree with this comment, my 11 A Coupe w/standard Black interior also had the bright door lock knobs that appeared to be original to the car.

There's no question that the color keyed door lock knobs were what was supposed to come on the '67 standard interior cars. If your cars were delivered "as new" with those chrome door lock knobs, that was by accident or because they were out of the colored knobs at the time. We've seen a lot of production anomalies.

Jon, Are the chrome knobs shaped the same as the ones in your first two pics?

Fred, it's been awhile since I looked at the repro chrome knobs but I seem to remember them being a little more accurate in terms of looking like the originals than these new colored repro knobs.

Jon, Someone had what they stated were NOS chrome knobs on eBay, but they looked like the reproduction piece that you presented; four ribs (coincidentally, they looked the same as the chrome reproduction knobs in my Rick's catalog). The originals in your first pic have five ribs. So I was wondering if the two were shaped the same or if they actually had different styles for the deluxe/standard interiors. One thing I did notice on them though is that they had the same ring pattern on top as the originals pictured here.

Fred, I think the tops of the repro chrome ones are more accurate than these colored repro ones but it's been a few years. Like I said, I probably need to buy some just to verify that unless somebody else here has some they can take photos of for us.

Fred, I found this chrome door lock knob in my garage mixed in with a bunch of other stuff. Not sure if it's an original GM piece or not.

Thanks for digging that out Jon. That's what I was expecting. The style matches the black original that you posted. If I posted right you'll see the difference from the one listed as NOS. I have seen several reproduction pieces lately being sold as NOS, so I'm always suspicious.

Interesting stuff, Fred. Would you please post a photo of the top of those lock knobs so I can see what that looks like? Thanks.

Jon, the picture I posted is the only one that eBay did not remove from the listing after it closed. But the top was the same pattern as the originals that you posted.
