The engine in your car was originally an inline 6 cylinder due to your VIN starting with 123. The 723 on the trim tag is the dark green standard interior, 65 65 means the car was originally Olympic Gold top and bottom, 06A means the car was built the first week of June (although all June built cars are stamped 06A), and the X11 means the car originally had the chrome accent package. Not sure why the car would have the dual exhaust bracket on it unless someone added it later or the factory made a mistake. This poage should help clear things up: http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#CowlTag

also is the way to tell where was sent to? i mean dealership  etc?

i have been able to find out alot of this for my 1971 chevelle ss  and also for my 1972 chevelle ss  but even when attempt to run vin on camaro i get nothing nationwide on the car

Theres no fog lights on a 69 camaro, either factory or dealer installed.  Spoilers were available on any car, even a 6 cylinder.  The cowl tag and the VIN appear to line up indicating they came from the same car, the 10 bolt axle would indicate a non SS, non Z28 car.  The X11 code inidcates the car can not be a big block (black tail panel).  So it would appear someone in the past 43 years painted the tail panel of a 6 cylinder car black, because they like the look.

Wheres the speedometer cable hole in the firewall?

Might be time to conform the hidden VINs. Black tail panel, IF original, would indicate a BB car. Since it has the dual exhaust hanger (unless added by smomeone), and disc brakes (which could've been ordered on any '69 Camaro), maybe the VIN tag has been changed and you've got a COPO car. Don't get your hopes up because that is a VERY long shot, and if the VIN has been swapped you've got a mess on your hands, but checking the hidden VINs would be my next step. Nore than likely the black tail panel and dual exhaust hanger has been added over the years.

The 250ci six cylinder with 3 speed was a very good car; ran similarly to a small V8 of the day....
and got decent gas milieage....

Either that, or Vin. and Trim tag don't match.   I'd look for partial Vins.

No, he said his VIN was 12337n658062. If you are looking at the 12437 on the trim tag, all the coupe trim tags have 12437 regardless of engine.

Is that the same for all 3 years?   I never realized that as my car is a V8 and they match.

Sounds like several things on this car have been changed.
An L6 car would have monoleaf springs.
What's the axle code?
