69 Air cleaners - cowl and SS 350
« on: January 07, 2012, 12:55:59 PM »
I am trying to put a snorkel air cleaner on my car and was wondering if I took the bottom of a cowl induction air cleaner and put a chrome or black lid from a early 70's car if that would fit? Or is there another combo that will work? I cannot find a repro.

Thanks

Nope, that will not work, cowl and regular are different diameters. I assume this is for your L65 car, the best you can do (If you cannot find an original) is to find a period correct auto 4bbl cleaner (much more common on any chevy 69 and 70) and graft a 4 speed snorkel from a used/junk repro cowl cleaner.

I think I may have a correct auto cleaner if you want to PM me.
