Multi Leaf or Mono Leaf
« on: October 14, 2011, 04:15:12 PM »
I bought a rear end which I believe to be out of a 1970 Nova - it codes out as a 3:08 posi.  Will this fit in a '67 Camaro with mono leafs?  How do I tell if the rear end is for multi-leaf or mono leaf - thanks a lot.

Yes, it'll fit in your 67 if it's a mono leaf axle. The depth of the spring perches will tell you if it's a mono or multi leaf axle. Mono perches are approx an inch to an inch and a half deep and multi perches are approx two and a half inches deep.

Is that measuring to the top of the axel tube?  Thanks!

Well, there's a comparison picture showing the differences between the multi leaf perches and the mono leaf perches somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. It may be on the Team Camaro site, but I didn't check there. Anyway, here's a quick picture of the multi leaf perch I lifted from this site.

The mono leaf perch is about half as deep as this one.
