purple tint started in 1970 I believe. Also the assembly line versions really don't look like the NOS or over the counter pcv valve either.

From what I found out from other members and research it was originally a spun PCV and has a different look. And they are hard to find and when found are not cheap normally. Kinda like a turned body vs. the later crimped version. I never saw a purple PCV on any of the original muscle cars from the 60's. Not sure how that got started but believe (but I could be wrong) it to be a myth like the ford caution stickers on Camaro fan shrouds.
Maybe someone can post a picture to better show the differences.

This is correct. The factory installed valve is a spun design. The last one I saw on ebay went for in the 300 range.

No ribs on the PCV hose.

Generally what I have seen on original survivor cars is that they do have ribbed PVC hoses. I have certified many cars and most had the ribbed hose. The four survivor cars I own all have the ribbed hose. This is not to say they were all like that, but in my opinion the ribbed hoses were certainly used and quite typical.

Steve, are the survivor cars you own all early cars? late cars? mid cars? or a mixture? is there a correlation between build date and if the hose had ribs or not? Thanks.

If we are just talking about 69 survivors I own both very early to late:  9B of 68, 3C of 69, 4D of 69 and 9A of 69. I also have a late 67 and mid 69. In addition I have certified many survivor first gens and the ribbed hose existed in most cases. Obviously they could have been replaced but many car were untouched and had all original hoses. Hope this info helps.

I have a GM NOS old old old stock PCV hose purchased years ago...the paper wrapper is from the 60's... it is ribbed.

Here's a pic of the hose on my 69 Z which I believe to be original, although I can't be certain. Does this look like it?

Below is a pic of two original PCV hoses. I believe one is from a 1967 19K mile L78 and the other 50 K mile Z28. These are hoses are identical to my 4 survivor cars.

Steve
Your hoses appear to have the spun "snakeskin" texture as well as the ribs. Most "original" hoses I see these days are just rubbber hoses with no texture.
Any comments
Thanks
