« on: May 28, 2019, 10:34:32 PM »

Beside the obvious? Probably not. But I put Dynamat in my 68 and it helped a lot in noise reduction and a little in heat reduction.

Mainly dynamat and similar products help to dampen out resonation of the panels (especially flat panels) of your car body, and that helps reduce sounds transmitted thru the body.   It does VERY LITTLE re thermal insulation...

Exactly as Gary says... I suppose I could add Dynaliner, which is added on top of the Dynamat for heat reduction, but that wasn't the main (obvious) issue for me.

Don't expect miracles. Even with a deluxe interior car, which has more insulation, the car is hot & noisy even with stock exhaust. As a kid I used to drive mine daily everywhere...even in 115 degree days. I guess I didn't know any better or I didn't care. I didn't buy my first a/c car till 1981. Enjoy.....Joe

Isn't that the love of the car ! Whats better then a SBC or a BBC  pounding away to the tune of 5 miles to the gal or my case I think 5 gals to the mile lol It's been a long time since I have driven the car but 1 thing that has never changed. I am still a gearhead !!! Why own the car if you expect something that will never happen ! In 1975 I bought the Camaro and in 1978 I bought a F-250 which rode even worse ! You have to love the abuse I guess . It's a Camaro !

The only reason I use it is when you have headers the floor boards tend to heat up and cook your feet. The noise is why I drive them.

I put Dynamat under the carpet in my 68 5 years ago. It deadens the sound and vibrations a bit and makes the car "feel" a little more solid. Car still gets hot inside.
