1111267 z-28 Distributo
« on: June 12, 2011, 07:06:17 PM »
I have a 1111267 HD Service distributor for s z-28.  Does anyone have the complete specifications on this distributor?  I think they are called out in the Delco Service Manual.  I'm looking for vacuum and mechanical advance specifications, part numbers, etc.  I have not seen one of these manuals for years.

I would also like the specifications on the 1111263 (ball bearing) and 1111499 (1969 396/375) distributors.

Thanks

How did the TI kits work? did you just upgrade your factory distributor or did you need to purchase a specific model?

I purchased the TI kit and distributor for a 68 Z28 I had back in 1968.  I ending up selling the z28 and it has been used on a 69 396/375 since it was new in 1969   It works well.  The kit as an early kit and you had to watch getting water in the amplifier.  It never happened to me however.  I guess I am lucky.  Later versions of the kit changed the amplifier and wiring harnesses to fix the problem.

I really never tested it against the stock point ignition.  So I don't know if it gave me any performance increases.  It starts fine with the TI ignition.  If I wanted to re-curve the distributor and change the vacuum advance I'm sure I would pick up performance.  The way I drive the car it works fine.
