If you turn up a pair of 5/3/68's and  you pass on them, I would be interested :)

I know of a set of four DF wheels that were removed from the same car in 1979.  All four are dated 7-16-68, if anyone is interested.

Here's one for $1000.00...

It appears to be a service replacement part.

Have 4 or 5 spare DF wheels and for sure some of them are May dates as that was a common month to find. Will have to look at that..

Might be the same wheel I looked at Carlisle that the guy wanted $1000 for. I purchased two large font DF wheels on ebay last year. One was $175 and the other was a buy it now for $145 and both are excellent condition. Hard to find but they are out there and can be found for reasonable amounts. I have not seen any of these wheels bringing the money they were a few years ago.

I had to step up big time also for a pair of the big upside down DF wheels. They are for my 12d 68 z.Very hard to find. Took some pics of the dates before I installed the tires. When it comes to wheels rust pits are usually in hard to reach areas and tough to repair . Buy the best condition ones you can find even if they are expensive.  John  p.s. glad to see luv2sixty69 post  that guy has alot of knowledge!

I need one more K19 DF wheel with the 1 1/8 wide slots. Just one! I aquired three of them over the past 2 years for an average of $90 each. I like the 69 dated replacements because the prices are usually reasonable and I'm not putting them on a numbers Z28. Anyone got one of these with the wide slots they can part with? Thanks!

John.

Paul, That wheel on Ebay has the narrow 1" slots. I have 1 of those I'm going to use as a temporary 4th wheel untill I find one more with the 1 1/8" wide slots. Truth is, probably won't be able to tell the difference once the trim ring is on but I'm just being picky.  :) Thanks for lookin!

John, I have one K19 wheel that can go. Long story on how I got it but someone tried to doctor it by hiding the coding. You can send me a PM.

Rodent (Jim) did not follow up on that but will check it out this weekend. Will send you a PM after I check.

OK, I started this post and I need some clarification on the codes. I have a 04A build 68 Z/28 and it's been stored for 40 years and somewhere along the line(during several moves) all I have is 1 'Upside down large DF non dated' wheel with the original tire still mounted...Can someone tell me if it's original to the car? When did the DF change to right side up, and the dating start? JM?

It looks like march dated wheels would be for your car. They are also hard to find. All of the df wheels are dated. The early ones are dated on the inside thats why you take a picture before the tire goes on.  John p.s. like someone else said the May dated wheels are the most common ,seen alot of those

Yes Jerry, I have your book. I'm looking at a 12/67 dated upside down large DF wheel but there is a GM and KH stamped on the outside by the lug nut holes(no numbers). The original wheel I have has K18 and a 'sideways' GM with an 8 stamped by lug nut holes, version 3. Is the afore mentioned wheel(GM-KH) legit?

There is a pair of 67 DF wheels on E-Bay but they are 'dated' and I thought 67's weren't dated on the exterior by the valve stem hole and the DF should be upside down??????
