This VIN plate is off of a 69 Z28 that is supposed to be an unrestored car. Any opinions as to the originality?  There are no documents to confirm or deny the tag.

First of all the tag say it´s a car from model year 1970, right?
My guess is that this is a car built outside US & A! Wink

Its from a 70 camaro built at the Baltimore Maryland Assembly plant (don't think they made Camaros at Baltimore in 70, only Norwood and Van Nuys) , from the looks of the edges of the cowt rivets, I would say its been off the car at least once.  So no camaros made in Baltimore, and tag being off the car, draw you own opinions.

BL is the 1970 code for the Van Nuys CA GM plant.

The tag is from a 1970 Camaro, Citrus Green with a dark green standard interior, built approximately the 2nd week of July 1970.

Sorry, my bad- the cowl tag is from a 70 Z28, not a 69. I had it confused with my own year car.  And the codes match the color and trim of the car that it is on. My question is whether or not it is an original cowl tag or not?  I have looked at a # of these and some time it is hard to tell so I thought I would throw it out there for some better trained eyes.

It looks real and there is nothing on a VN tag to designate Z28.

Having said that, the first repro tag I know of went on one of our customers' cars, a Norwood '70 Z/28 around 1988. It's real but it was built Forest Green. Now a Cranberry Red Z28-RS. We were not involved.

the 'green' was a popular color on '70 Z28's...    Smiley
