SWAG is to look for the date stamp on them. I don't know but I doubt the repop has a date stamp.

What does 'SWAG' stand for?? I'm an old guy who hasn't kept up with all the new terms. If there is a 'date' stamp, where would it be?? On the backside or on the 'folded' down edges??

Thanks Paul !! That kept some of the egg off my face.  The date on my '69 was on the bottom/back side next to the crease in the middle. On the passenegr side if I remember correctly. JohnZ pointed that out in another thread is the only reason I knew where to look. No idea on '67/'68. Maybe somebody will chime in on those.

Thanks, now I know. I'm really catching up with all the latest phrases-ha, ha-------I know the hood has numbers on it, and the valance has 'identifying' ribs(on the originals), but does the header panel have anything 'identifying' marks, ribs, etc., or any numbers stamped on it??   Merv

A GM header panel has the run number stamped on the front side return flange on the passenger side, between two holes in the flange; see the "46" in the photos below.

The date stamp on the header panel for my '68 is in the same location as JohnZ's, never noticed it before. Hope this helps, RonM.

Great pictures JohnZ. Thank you---I've missed it for years. Mine is a '68 06D Camaro. It's just stamped with a '6'.  What does that mean??  And what does your '46' mean?? Thanks again, Merv-------Besides restoration, we're going racing again tonight shortly with another '68--it's on website http://www.ScottsRandR.com

That's interesting because my panel is also stamped with just a 6 and it's an 07D build. RonM

binky3>  Date codes are 2 digit for the week of the year.  ie; 46 would be week 46, probably mid November.  Panel date codes are usually 2 to 4 weeks prior to build date of car.

RonM>  I would say look a little closer, your Date should possibly be 26.  The 2 might not be as visible for some reason.
