And Another Antwerp Camaro
« on: October 27, 2017, 10:11:02 PM »
Saw this for sale on Craig's list:

Up for sale a 1968 Camaro which is one of 1139 built in Antwerp, Belgium and brought back to the states in the 1970's by a serviceman station in Germany. Seldom seen or heard of (YES)
Rare ?? In my opinion yes, in the fact no one has put a cowl hood, SS or Z28 emblems on the car yet.
You can read about these cars by searching on the web, Camaro Foreign Assembly plants- Camaro research group.
Factory options on this car:
Power steering
Power disc brakes, dual piston
Deluxe interior
Fold down rear seat
Rear window defrost
Console
Console mounted clock
Radio delete
New items and work performed on the car in the last two years:
Painted, good driver quality
Brakes, master cylinder, calipers, wheel cylinders, rubber lines
Tires 14" BFG'S, GM bans, NOS center caps, GM 14x7 rally's
Tail light bezels, rocker moldings, door handles, door mirror, emblems, grille, NOS upper and lower grille moldings.
Aluminized exhaust with flow master
Detailed under the hood, removed all brackets, pulleys and latches sand blasted and painted.
Alternator, ps & fan belts
Things that have been changed or not original to the car
Engine, now has a 1973 350 with headers.
Paint color has been changed to Black.
Things that make this car special
100% original Interior (very nice)
Original sheet metal car
Original weather-stripping
Original transmission & rear end
Original inspection sticker on windshield from 68
Also original paint color was Silver. You could not get silver 68 Camaro in the US.
The fact it was not built in the US.
Things that are different from US built Camaro's
200 MPH speedometer (km)
Seat belts
Two dimmer switches. One for the headlights & one for factory Fog lights
Inside of trunk & firewall were painted body color
No firewall trim tag or in dash vin. This car has one plate located above the heater box with vin & trim info.

That's (yet another!) a car that I'd love to add to the garage, if only funds and time permitted......

Too bad on the color change, but still a nice car.
