Cooling capacity
« on: October 28, 2010, 08:36:57 AM »

Hi there,

I have a 396 325hp a/c 68 camaro.

The radiator is a heavy duty type (4 core).

I have done a little reading and have the capacity at 6 gallons.

Is there any other suggestions?

Cheers.

The specs say 23 quarts... if I'm understanding your question correctly as to the cooling system capacity on a 68  396.

Hi guy's,

Yeah sorry its a question.

I have the the total capacity of fliud (water/anti freeze-boil) located within my cooling system at 6 gallons.

I converted that to litres and the figure was around 27 litres. Wow!!!

At this stage i do not have any over heating issues.

Is 6 gallons correct for the specs on my car i supplied?

Cheers.

If you have Air Conditioning you have 24 quarts = 6 gallons (27.276 liters). If you do not have A/C then you have 23 quarts = 5 3/4 gallons (26.1395 liters).
