COUPE SPRINGS ON CONVERTIBLE

Has anyone put a set of coupe springs on a convertable with any luck? I'm looking to use monoleaf rear springs, and was wongering if the 1 lb. difference in the rating from convertible to coupe was  a significant amout to really be noticed. Both in ride height, and ride quality. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, but you have to get them re-arced to vert specs,(i did mine 1.5 inches over to increase ride height).  They ride like monos :)

Kevin,
Where did you have it done? Was it done cold or using heat, or do you know? Do the results seam to be perminate, or are the springs loosing any of theor ride height?

I have a 69 Convertibel and I had to take my springs to a spring shop and have them disassembled and re-arched slightly.  I used a shop that specializes in big trucks and tractor trailer springs and suspensions.  They have the equipment.

Same here, a local dump truck and RV spring shop.  They said they had all the stock specs and I just had to specify any inches over stock.  I wanted it to be 1" over stock and I told them 1.5.  I see about 1/4" settle since I had them done in July.  I expected some settling, so I factored it in.  I have 2 more sets of monos that I will get re-arched too.  I will swap them out if they when they get too low.  I did see evidence of heating of the ends when I stripped it, but I don't think the whole spring was heated.
