Does anyone know who sells a good restamped 480 distributor?

No one sells "good" restamped components. They are all very easy to spot by experts.

Some guy on eBay sells very poor restamps.   My question is why bother if it's a restamp? 
My car doesn't have a 480 in it and I'm ok with it.

whos going to look at the engine that far back anyway.just clock your dist. to make it that much harder to read

No, but they do with a restamped one. It makes the entire car suspect.

Not a lot of cars survived all of their original engine components as these were upgraded or changed without thought for future value.
The main components are what most people judge what they are buying.
Besides, many people buy restamped engine components with no knowledge that they are not original. Suspecting a entire car because of this is a bit of a stretch.
I wouldn't pass on a nice car just because it had a restamped distributor!
Just my opinion.

It would depend on how the car is being represented and the price, but if I'm spending a huge chunk of change on a nice "correct" 69 Z28 and discover the distributor is a restamp, that throws the entire originality and pedigree of the car out the window. I wouldn't necessarily walk away, but I sure would scrutinize it to death! The first thing I always say to myself when I see a restamped component is "I wonder what else on this car is fake".

However, if the seller is up front about the restamps, and the price of the car reflects this, I would still scrutinize it to death, but in a less critical fashon.

I'd suspect the whole car for one restamped part, and question the owner's honesty and integrity entirely. If he knew it to be restamped, remove it or disclose the info. It's a known fact there are plenty of sellers taking advantage of peoples' lack of origionality knowledge, with their car sales and parts sales.

I'd second the last three posters.  However, the one thing that you have to take in to account is some innocent buyer may have gotten what they thought was an original dist. years before all the knowledge came out about re stamps and sold their car without knowing it.  Many people on TC have bought faked or stolen cars without knowing it at the time.  I have a 480 dist. that was on a DZ engine that was in my 68 Z28.  It has been said by some to be a re stamp, but I find it hard to believe that someone went to the effort of putting a re stamped dist. in an engine that didn't even belong in the car it was in.  Not to mention, that engine and dist. had been in the car since 1985 and a real 480 wouldn't have been any more than a fake one at that time.

I've just spent the last 6 months researching the history of my 69 Z28. Like most Z28,s of that era it was driven hard with not much concern about original parts, but what survived was the drivetrain.
I can't afford buying all original nos parts, dist., alt. starter, etc., but I can afford a restamped part. I would never pass any restamped part as original. I didn't mean to mislead any of the Team Camaro members with my post.

Have Jerry M. rebuild and recurve any original distributor for your car and put it in. Can't see those numbers back there anyhow. Put the correct cap and wires on the engine and go with it. JMO
