Can a 1111480 69 Z/28 302 distributor have a june 72 date? How long were these produced and if they were 'over the counter' would they even have a date code?

I believe the 480 distributor was available from GM into the 80's, possibly later. You have a replacement/service replacement distributor.

Yes, the service replacements do have date codes and I have some in my data base as late as 1974. The aspect ratio on the characters is different from originals though.
