If a 3923289-DZ 4053 carb was dated 811, would  that be 68 model year or year carb was produced? If a next (69) year model was built in Aug of 68 would the carb be dated with an 8 or 9?

Year of production. Not model year. Have Oct 68 built Z with carb dated with 8 as first number.
