Real or not, it's now sold as the listing has a bid.

i guess they are now moving to the 68 zs seeing how they are about 50000 69 zs on the road now.just think in a few years we could have 1000 67zs

This is an 07D car by the cowl tag.
The block cast date is M68 and the block pad stamp is V0510MO. Am I correct in assuming by the casting date and referring back to the block pad stamping that at best this could be a May block? Then those 2 #'s would correlate to one another. Also, I am assuming this is an "M" date casting which as I read there are no ways to confirm when it was made?

At this particular time of production, were there any delays with parts etc. to hold this car up?
Seller says the VIN is correct on the block, no pics though but is there a possibility this is the born with engine for this car?

Did "M" cast blocks still have the day and year cast alongside the "M" as other block date castings did?
I am trying to get my head around the "M" casting blocks and I apologise if my assumptions are silly!. Thankyou.. :)

While it's not the 'norm' for a pad date to be 2 mos eariler thatn the cowl build date, it is possible. It's true 'M' coded blocks have no casting date, so the 'M68' on this block doesn't mean June of 68, it had to be cast b4 pad date of 0510. 'M' blocks were transition blocks between the old and new castings with some changes made for the next model year. some were scraped and some were put into production. These days if some one had a 'M' block with the correct casting number they could restamp it and no one could argue the fact especially if the restamp was perfect.

Gents, thanks for your replies.

JohnZ, yes I had read the "M" code paper.
I am wondering then in this case, what do the #6 & #8 digits indicate? ie" M68  ;)

pjibizjak, I did mention that at best this could be a May block, then it could be correct for the stamped date of 0510, I don't know where June came from?  ???
This could be a January block for all we know but obviously it must be made before the stamped date.

Just trying to work it out fellas and I appreciate your help, thanks.  :)

Regarding the 'June' date, I thought that someone might decode the 'M68' with the 6 = the 6 month of the year, June, and the 8 as the year. Or the 68 could just be the 2 digit year.

Thanks for the reply and that is a good call you have made. This gets back to my original question, what are those other 2  digits.....6 & 8?  8)

I think the car is real. Axle and trans and tag all look fine. Engine is early, but could be real.
Paint is nasty though and maroon is a great color.....
