At 50 posts, you move up.  A newbie is exactly that, someone new to the forum.

If you're a member of the old version of the forum, you haven't been paying much attention to the news flashes above and the sticky post in this very section ;)  Otherwise, if you're truly new here, welcome, and don't worry about the term, just participate and enjoy yourself.

Newbie isn't a demeaning term.  It just means you are new.
