'67 Z28 At Cecil County
« on: September 15, 2009, 02:25:50 AM »
Thought the CRG folks might like this.  Shot three weeks ago at Cecil County on Sunday morning.  2200 feet corrected altitude.  I hope to get the D/Stock record in the Fall.  Stock 302 Z28 engine blue printed, 3200 lbs.  Best video I have so far thanks to Kerry Stanley.  Kerry also did all the sheet metal work on the car.  Fenders have not fallen off yet due to the wheel stands.........LOL

That's a blast from the past.  Craig will air another Camaro spot on Motorweek Oct 10, 2009.  They used my 67 Z28 survivor car.

Hey Jerry have you ever thought of doing a video on the 67-68 Z cars as far as what is correct and what to look for in one of these cars. Great shots of the 67 car at the drags.

Maybe when I retire.  Right now, I have zero free time.  Was only home two days in the last three weeks.  And I'm leaving for the Charlotte NHRA National Event race in the AM.  If anyone is in the area, stop by at the track.  We run class eliminations on Friday.

Hey Jerry that was pretty sweet. I am not complaining by any means, but I wonder why the camera operator didn't zoom in on the car as it went down the track? Again, not complaining. Just would have been nice to see the finish and the time on the light board. Just hit the zoom button as ya go. Just a thought as things got pretty small near the middle and end. To hard to see.....Danny

That video was shot was a digital camera and no zoom.  I am trying to get a high quality video at one of these events, and will do so soon.  Only reason I posted this was because it shows the car working at the starting line with wheels up on 9" tires.

The snap, crackle, and pop of the 302 at idle was worth the whole video! Can't wait to show my 10 year son.

That sounds good Jerry. The car is MEAN! What thrill. Can't wait to see more launching and full down the track video. Danny

I have pulled out all the stops for the Dutch Classic next week.  I have to run 10.53 to set the new D/Stock record.  Car has been a best of 10.64 so far.  With the improvements we made on the dyno and freshen up, and good weather and barometer, I have a good shot.
