looking for 68 Camaro RS vin 124378N316762

I've been looking for my old 1968 Camaro RS for almost 30 years:

VIN # 124378N316762

I owned this car in the late 1970s, when I lived in Stevens Point Wisconsin (I bought it in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin), sold it to James P. Whittington III, who moved from WI to Dayton, Ohio soon after he bought the car from me. He sold it around 1980 in Dayton (and bought a mustang!), that's the end of the trail. I've done the obvious internet searches with no results. Car was orange with black stripes, black vinyl top, 327/275hp, 4 speed, black interior, console, gauges, etc. Had some fiberglass repair in the rear quarters but otherwise was in excellent condition, which gives me hope that this car is still in existence. Anyone recognize the VIN?

I wish you luck in your search. This is pretty darn difficult for most people to pull off by themselves. You may be able to trace it using a private investigator. The fees are not unreasonable in my opinion. If I were you I would write a check and get some results. I was able to locate the previous owner back to the late 70's in no time at all using that method.

Mark,
Thanks-- this has crossed my mind, I just haven't been able to justify paying $$ to trace this car....you never know, if the car still exists I keep hoping the owner will type the VIN on a search engine and find this page!

Terry, the car's not in the database, but I've now added it. I'll let you know should it show up.
