power or not breaking question
« on: August 04, 2009, 12:07:41 PM »
I have a early built 68 rs ss #'s matching l48 that I am finishing up, it originally came with manual brakes and I have the original master cyl., BUT, i have a original power booster and master cyl. from a camaro but one month late on date code. Getting ready to buy break lines and I am on the fence, I am going to show the car when done. Just wanted to see what you guys think.

It's just an opinion, but if I had all my original equipment, that's the way I would want to show it.  I had an original 68 SS in high school.  It had manual drum brakes all around and it would lock up all four wheels just as quick as my front power discs on my Z will.

If you are looking for originality and the booster or cylinder is dated later than the car, I would expect you to lose points if it is being judged for originality. I guess it depends on what you mean by " show the car ".
