drip pan?
« on: July 19, 2009, 11:59:58 PM »
Ive owned a 69 Z10 for 33 yrs & I seem to remember when I was 18 that there was some kind of drip pan under-neath the engine, attached to the sub-frame. Mine was a little beat up so I threw it away. Well 33 yrs later I havent seen one since!  Does anyone know where I can get one????

If it were an original Equipment part if should be called out in the Assembly Manual. Have you looked through it to identify the GM part number? Could it have been an after market add on?

Actually I did find it in the AIM on page Page 207 Part no. 3949856 I suppose it has to do with the AC! Ive never seen another since the time I took it off my car! I wish i could find one! Thanks for the reply!Apparently it only comes with the big block engine!

Yup - 396 with A/C only; I've never seen one.

What was it's purpose?  I've never seen or heard of that either!  69 only?

Interesting. No wonder I never heard of it. I looked up C60 in my 68 AIM and did not see it listed for L34 or L35 396 assemblies.

I would guess it will be a very dificult find. I have never seen one either. Even if you can find a beat up one it would be worth aquirring it as a master for fabricating a new one to factory appearance.

It's '69-only.

On page 207 AIM it says Air Conditioning-Seals & Shield so I assume it pertains to air circulation for big block AC cars
