after market wheel opening moldings
« on: April 20, 2009, 03:00:06 PM »
Hi all, I just recieved a after market r/r wheel opening molding I got from ebay. The screw hoels in it are 1/2" from 10:00 to 2:00 and the rest are sheet metal screw size. I was currious to know if the holes in them for the mounting screws are normal or someone punched them out larger.

That's normal - from 10 to 2, the molding is attached by the fender-to-inner fender bolts.

It's a right rear.  The shape is close to the shape of the 1/4 but the fit is just awful!

I've been playing with the molding.  I think I can make it work but, WOW, what a piece of junk.  I'm glad I paid 9.99 for it.  So far I've had to trim it narrower as it was almost 1 3/4 wide on the mounting surface.  It's soft so I think I can bend it a little at a time to make it fit the contor of the 1/4.  I wish I could afford some nos moldings.  Saw a set on eBay for 500.00 and still going!!!

I agree.  What absolute crap.  I'm just going without the moldings.  >:(
