GM exhaust pipe sealer substitute
« on: March 29, 2009, 11:06:46 PM »
I'm installing a new stock exhaust system in my 67 SS350 restoration project I've been working on.  I see that the AIM calls for a grease based sealer PN 9985020 at the pipe joints.  Could someone tell me a good substitute for that?  Thanks.

Gardner sends a tube of regular clear silicone with their systems.

Most auto parts stores have it, called "muffler sealer" or "exhaust pipe sealer".

Where was the sealer put?  On the pipes at the exhaust manifolds?  At what connections?
