dog bone tread
« on: January 27, 2009, 03:32:26 PM »
Back in the early 80s  there was a tire I ran on the rear of my 69. On the side of the tire I believe it said formula 1 and it also had what was called a dog bone tread, the size of the tire was referred to as an N-50. does anyone know of these or have any info on them, not sure who made them thanks            SCOTT

That tread pattern sounds familiar.  The first thought that popped into my mind is that they were made by Dunlop.  Don't take my word for it though, just a guess based on past memories.  Hopefully someone else on here can give you a definitive answer.

Fomula 1 Super Stock - I had a set on the back of my '69 Camaro when I bought it back in the late '70's. They made a LOT of smoke.  ;)

Rollin on 10" wide Cragars in the back with 4" Cragars on the front with VW tires. OLD SCHOOL is right!

No problem and glad I could help, just remember their bias-plys.  Squeel like little piggies but no fun on the road!
