« on: December 15, 2008, 02:12:14 PM »
OK, kind of a stupid question that I should know but I dont have another car to look at currently. The drain holes in the in the rear outer wheel openings ar plugged with plastic or rubber plugs? Same question for the rear drop off drain plug?

Not sure what the repop houses are selling, but originals are black plastic and have "CAPLUGS BP 3/4" on them.

And of course there was more than one supplier, so they all won't say the same thing. The above is from my 68 Camaro and this one is from my 69 Corvair. It says "3/4 DOT 12".

Interesting, the ones in my '68 Camaro are rubber!     :)

I guess thats why I'm having trouble. I have a pile of them both plastic and rubber. I just cant recall what goes where? I think the wheel wells had plastic and the filler panels under the dropoffs had rubber on the originals I've seen?

The ones in my rear wheel wells are rubber!  I don't know what part you are referring to by "filler panels under the dropoffs".  If you can elaborate on this area I'd be happy to check my car for you.

OK, to break it down on each side of the car we should have a drain hole covered by a square rubber flap at the rear of the inner rocker. We have two drain holes in the rear wheel wells. We have one in the filler panels that are under the trunk and connected to the lower rear quarter. Plastic...or rubber?

I believe the trunk drop-off plugs are metal with a foam seal and painted a shade of green .

Thanks for breaking it down.  All the ones you describe above are rubber on my car!     :)
