1968 Trunk Mat
« on: March 05, 2006, 06:32:26 PM »
My 68 Trunk mat is an origianl GM piece for sure.  However, the cutouts in the mat for the top of the shocks don't line up.  The holes for the shocks that are in the mat do not line up with the staggered shock locations that were introduced in 68.  Does this mean that I have a 67 mat or did GM just keep using the 67 mat in 68?   Also how should the mat fit around the gas filler neck?  I ask this as I have another mat, also original that is formed in another way for the tank filler?  Thanks for any help.  Bill D

I take it you have a deluxe interior car?

Yes, deluxe interior with houndstooth.  Not that it matters on this subject but it's a Z/28.

I'd like to know the answer to Bill's second question, as well.  Original or repo, how should the mat fit around the tank filler?  A picture would be great!
