Radiator Core Support
« on: December 01, 2008, 01:36:28 AM »
Is it possible to remove the radiator support without removing the fenders.  The one on my car has two holes along the top, which was probably done for hood pins.  Classic Ind. claims to have a repo that is made from "GM tooling" that I will get if the one I have can not be repaired

Why not just weld up the holes?  With a little skill, some patience, and paint you won't be able to tell!     :)

If you are referring to the holes next to the fender support bar mounting points; they are factory holes.

There is one on each side, and in the photo you can see the one more clearly between the support bar and the sticker.  I've looked at lots of pictures and have not seen those type of holes on other Z28's.  They look like holes for hood pins.

That is where people typically put them...

Those holes adjacent to the front attachment of the diagonal bars are in ALL radiator supports - they're for the forward two gage pins on the factory hood squaring fixture.  :)

Thanks! I'm happy to hear that it was a factory thing, so now it won't bother me.  I guess I just didn't notice it on some of the other cars, or do some have the holes and some do not.
