Advice/opinion on 14 X 6" Rally wheels
« on: January 31, 2010, 06:39:21 PM »
I need some help, advice/ opinions on new wheels all way around.  Has anybody used the 6" Rally wheels on all 4 corners?

Does the offset keep the tire inside the wheel well?   Do they hit the disc brake caliper with the 4" offset?

Do they scrub the wheel well in hard turns since the tire is wider?

Who has the best wheel?  Has anybody used the name brand "Wheel Vintiques" that Rick's sell?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated

:D I can answer your question's on this one , here is a pic of my 67 with 14 X 6 rally wheel's all the way around ,
mine are original GM wheel's code XG is the best one for use with disk brakes the XG code wheel's have a lip on the back of them that allow's them to clear the disk brake's , code XN wheel's will fit and work wth drum brake's , I don't know what to tell you as far as ordering repro wheel's ???  ??? I guess just call the company and ask , MY PERSONAL ADVISE is to buy used original GM wheel's off ebay they are alway's on there and cheap ! just do a search type in XG rally , anyway my wheel's don't scrub and sit in the wheelwell nice ! in the front and rear here is a couple of pic's ,,,,,, good luck ,,,,,,

I've got more pic's of other angle's if you need to see more ,,,

I have 16 x8 all around, compliments of a previous owner. The car is somewhat apart right now so I can't tell you they don't rub, but with reasonable tires I don't expect a problem. Search here for "tire size" or "tire fit" this subjecct has come up several times.

Thanks for all the advice guys. The biggest thing I wanted to do was put a little wider tire on without the tire sticking out past the wheel so far that it looks bad. I'm sure y'all have seen 50's 0n 7" wheel. :D :D  I guess I'll stay with the original 7" wheel and forget about it.

Correction from previous post. The wheels ar 15 x 7 NOT 16 x 8. Numbers indicate they came from a Monte.  I should not try to touch type.
