1967 SS 427 "Could this be?"
« on: February 24, 2006, 02:42:43 AM »
Saw a 1967 SS today with what is supposedly a factory 427. Had 4 wheel discs, four speed transmission. 427 Turbojet badges.

Looks original, good shape and unrestored, but I didn't have time to really inspect... not that I couldn't be easily fooled anyway.

I'm no Camaro expert, but am a bit of a gearhead. I don't recall the 427 in 1967. Could this truly be a factory original?

Thanks!

No 427's in 67's unless they were dealer jobs...i.e. Yenkos, Baldwin-Motions, etc

Dana Chevrolet and Bill Thomas Engineering, both in CA also did a few. Nickey in IL also. Car Life magazine tested a 427 Dana Camaro.

If the car can be documented as a 427 conversion it is quite valuable.
