rust conversion
« on: August 15, 2008, 06:01:28 PM »
Hi, I looked back through posts and used different keywords in the search engine but I cant find info.
Somebody recommended a cleaning/rust converting detailing product with before and after pics of an engine    (Not a chevy engine)

It was a  base model 69 survivor that the gentleman posted. Thank you, Scott

While I have never used the product ... Think the one you might be referring to was Rust Bullet - http://www.rustbullet.com/  That seems to ring a bell to me.

firstgenaddict - Thanks for the tip on "safest rust remover".  I'll look into it for my next project.

SRR is a nice product, but it can remove some platings/finishes, so might be a good idea to test on a similarly-finished spare part if possible.

The MSDS on SSR says it is phosphoric acid, btw. That's been around as a rust remover for a long time.
