69 Camaro Z28 Question
« on: August 09, 2008, 09:53:53 PM »
A friend of mine just bought a 69 Camaro Z28 out of Washington state.  It is Hugger Orange with white stripes and black interior.  302 / 4 Speed .  He says the car's POP has a line thru where the exterior color codes would normally be found.  The dealership who sold him the car said that is very rare as it means it was custom ordered with special paint.  I dont know what he paid for the car but it was listed on Craigs list for around $54,000.00.  Anyone know the car?

Thanks,

Damon

- - paint would indeed be a special order... it could have been for stripe delete or any other color GM offered that year... seeing as HO is a std color must have been stripe delete...

Is your hugger orange RS a survivor?

The RS is a survivor.  We fired it up last week and it runs great.  Had a sticky lifter for the first 10 minutes and needs some new vacuum lines for sure.  Everything worked except the dash blower fan.  Here is what did work, the blue light AM/FM stereo, door buzzer, all gauges, all lights including head lights, headlight covers are sticky but open and close, power steering works with no leaks, engine has a slight lieak and timing cover or front main seal, trans works with no leaks, and even the water pump and radiator holds coolant and functions.  The thermostat was plugged so we removed it.  We did not try the AC.

Damon, what steering wheel do you have? Black shroud or woodgrain?

I need one last picture for the steering wheel report. It happens to be the standard (without Z23 or Z87) RS wheel. I've been putting out feelers for almost a year now, and no one has been able to help. Apparently the 69 standard RS wheel is one rare bird!! I check ebay once or twice a day also, but so far, no go. I have one hopeful. There's a guy on there now with a 69 RS and the standard wheel:

He's said he can send me the pictures I need, but it won't be until later on.

I'm crossing my fingers...
