Has anyone had any issues with the fitment of the front spoiler braces? I just purchased a new front spoiler with the 2 braces that are supposed to mount from the lower part of the spoiler to the lower part of the front fender just in front of the tire. the braces are too short by  1/2 to 5/8 of an inch. Am I mounting it wrong or do I have the wrong braces? I purchased it from Classic industries and the kit says it comes with the correct braces (8 1/2 inches). Any advice is appreciatted.

Double check with Classic Industries to make sure they sent you the right kit.  '67/'68s are different from '69s.  The GM braces I have for my '68 are approximately 9-5/16" long tip to tip for the outer braces and approximately 14-5/8" long tip to tip for the center brace.

For a '67 front spoiler kit you should get 3 brackets; 2 for the ends and one for the center.

Where does the center one bolt too.  I looked for the place on the car itself?

The rear hole in the center brace rod is used as a template to drill a hole in the subframe front reinforcement for a bolt and nut.

There is no hole there , so that would mean it never had one originally?  I have had that third bracket for so long and now i now that i got to drill a hole in the sub frame.

No 67's came with spoilers from the factory, so of course there won't be a hole in the subframe for the spoiler brace.

No '67-'69 subframe ever had that hole from the subframe manufacturer - it was drilled at Norwood and Van Nuys on spoiler-equipped 68's and 69's using the brace as the drilling template. 67's, of course, never had the hole drilled, as the spoiler wasn't available from the factory in 1967.

No, I don't have the braces on my 69.   If the spoiler drags or gets hung up on something, I don't won't my fenders damaged.

Actually you should have all the brackets on since the spoiler will flex and possibly drag at high speeds due to aerodynamic forces. Then the smaller bolts holes will start to tear where it bolts to the lower valance. It's happened to me.

Also, I can see your point about hitting it and possibly damaging your fenders. Being so low I've clipped mine many times. So many that I always have a new spare on hand. But if you do clip it hard on steep driveways or curbs, the bracket will usually tear away from the plastic holes. I actually broke one of the brackets before. It was completely missing except for the small flat part bolted to the fender. No damage to the fender though. Embarrassed
