68 AM FM Stereo

my 68 RS/SS has a stereo with a console control head (I believe the part number is 7305321) with a bowtie green light that glows when you tune in to a station. Is this factory, dealer added, neither, any info would be appreciated.  I found the AM/FM Stereophonic brochure in the glove box but that's all.

Marty,

Is this what you have? If so, it's factory and rare! There were only 1335 cars built with the U79 option (AM/FM Stereo). Just how many were installed in the Console (-vs- under the dash) is unknown. Nice option to have, but sure takes up all the room in the Console! Makes it totally useless!

If you ever decide to sell it, let me know! (And just about every other 68 owner in the world as well!!!)
