Unless the cylinder bore is really pitted, I'm not sure what parts are unavailable.

You can buy a Wagner rebuild kit at the local parts store, "US" code is listed in their book.

I bought a reman master for my 69 SS for about $20 or $30 with the intention of using the new parts in my original. I ended up just using the reman master on my car, keeping my original on the shelf for a later rebuild, and paying the core charge. I bought a Wagner rebuild kit in the begining and found it didnt have all the parts I needed.

A 309 is a Delco Moraine isn't it?  Not a Bendix.  According to CRG the Bendix is not original.  I have the same, am changing to a 309.

Only the Delco 309 "US" master cylinder is correct. Send it to White Post and they'll brass-sleeve it and rebuild it - they have the parts.

Thanks John, that's what I thought.  Since I've been messing with my MC (which is the tall Bendix style) I've seen SOOOOO many "original" cars with the Bendix MC.  I mean like a hundred.  I'm wondering why so many cars have the wrong MC on them.

That's what my 68 had on it too.  Must have been the main replacement at the auto stores.

Some '68 built '69s have a US stamped 346 master.

I bought a rebuild kit from Napa about 5 years ago with the following part number on my receipt.
BPR - 20-120500.
The box which I still have says 501 on it.
Hope that helps.

I was told the same thing.  You know what I did...?  I bought a rebuilt master cylinder for $20 and gutted it.  The rebuild kit only comes with the bushings and springs.  Gutting a rebuild master cylinder got me everything...including new pistons.  I then returned the empty master cylinder for my core deposit.  It worked fine for me.

That's a good idea, what was the part number and where did you get it?

FYI,
I just ordered another one from Napa yesterday and picked it up today for $32.99 with the part number #501 on it.

I was hoping sdkar would give me the part number on the rebuilt master cylinder?  I need the new piston.
