They are located behind the backseat facing the back of the car under the convertable apron. they have a cardboard looking housing around them, you just about have to be a houdini or a contortionist to mess with them.

Are they located up high or down low in the trunk?

Is there some standard out there by which they are located?

There are dimples in the rear seat support that indicate where the cardboard boxes are attached to the structure of the car.

Someone may have more correct info, but I think there may have been dimples in the pan for locating the screws on those cardboard boxes.  Also, more often there was only one box and on the passenger side, depending on year and options.  See UPCs U57 and U80, plus U79 for 1968 and 1969 in the assembly instruction manual for your year.  If you have a 67 you can look at the cowl trim tag to see if the car had U57 or U80.

Hey Mark,

Thanks for the pic. I have a set of originals that I've fretted with for years trying to decide whether or not to install them on my Z11, but I have always resisted it because they are such a poor (cosmetic) design - at least they are almost invisible once installed.

I'm still debating -

Steve
