Pics of Original Trim Tags
« on: September 19, 2007, 09:46:48 PM »
I know we don't want to give the "bad guys" any help, so I won't ask to post them here... But if anyone has some good, clear pictures of original trim tags --not sanded, not repainted-- would you email them to me?  I'd appreciate the help!

Phil -

What's your email address?  You have it "hidden" on your profile summary.

It is lakeholme@charter.net
But all you have to do is click on the little white envelope symbol to the left.

Thanks!

No problem.  I'm working on a presentation about muscle cars (especially Camaros and Chevelles) for my region.
Ironically, I've been able to find pretty good pics of questionable and even fake tags.  There are some OK pics in some of the books, but most are too small or in black and white.  Hard to use in a presentation.
My 68 tag was repainted by a previous owner and looks fuzzy.
Even the Pre-War car owners are starting to warm up to the 50s and 60s cars.  They are really interested in the original look of things.
It's sort of like explaining my 61 Impala to my grandfather all over again...

When your email address is "hidden" there is no little white envelope symbol to the left.    :)

Thanks, Paul! On two accounts...
The pics are great!  I have to ask, how did you get that straight on angle? Was the motor ought of the car?
Also, sorry about the email address.  I have a little white envelope when I look at my posts --thought everyone else would.

Thanks again!

Your welcome Phil.  The engine is still in the car (I'll send you an engine shot).  I just leaned over the header panel as far as possible and took the shot.  I have a SLR camera which makes it easy.  Also, this car has manual brakes, so I didn't have to contend with the power brake booster.  Let me know if you need anything else.

Nope, not for now!  Thanks!  The motor pic is also helpful.

And thanks to the rest of you who sent pictures.

I've been collecting pictures of tags from eBay for a couple years. I must have between 300 and 400 of them.....
