1968 Z28 brake booster
« on: October 01, 2007, 08:35:42 PM »
I have a 02E LOS 1968 Z28 with a brake booster # 8515 back of top tab and a 292 date on the front of the tab. Any thoughts of if this is correct for an earl 68 Z28? I have not seen this # alot on boosters.

It would be interesting to know if boosters were used as they arrived in L.A . or weather they were all put in stock and picked when needed. I did see something Jerry wrote about some early cars getting the 8515 booster but I cannot find it now. Thanks

I just did a search and came up with this CRG thread:  http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=1632.0

Hope this is what you were looking for.

yes that is the article I was talking about. What is considered a early or mid-year car. Does your car have the 302 emblems on the fenders also?

I suspect that more research is needed to know about LA cars, but it doubt it's original to the car.  My 11E Norwood car has a 9078 and it's dated 315 which is correct for this build.  I do not think a Feb 68 car could have an 8515.

I often wondered if it was original to the car after reading your book. The car sat for 13 years unlicensed before I pulled it off to rebuild it and it sure had all the signs of an original piece with the way the paint was underneith it.

I have an 05D car.  9078 dated 102.  Which is about 1&1/2 months.
