Body shell weight
« on: September 24, 2008, 02:59:41 PM »
Hi,

I'm going to look at a 67 rs that is in pieces tonight.  I'm just wondering how heavy the body shell is.
I was thinking about building a dolly to roll it on and off the trailer, but wonder if maybe that's a little bit of overkill.
Can 3 or 4 people carry it?

Thanks

Geoff

Hello:
When I took my 69 to quickstrip I had it on a dolly I got from accesibility solutions for $400.00 (pneumatic tires). I think Eastwood is offering them now. But 3 guy's could handle it easy.

Good luck

Thanks man.
Didn't want to get the shell home and not have enough guys to unload it.

Also have the body cart from http://www.accessiblesystems.com/ .   Had a shell with glass and doors go to blast.  Talked to them about it, they thought it would be at the limit, but we had no problem with it.
