cowl hood and spoilers
« on: July 30, 2007, 01:53:52 AM »
Is it possible for an LM1 to come with a cowl induction hood and front and rear spoilers from factory? Also did Dealers ever install the cowl induction hoods? What kinda of primed did the fractory use? Two other questions, how can you tell if a car had single or dual exhaust and how clean is the cut for the hole for a four speed shifter made by the factory.
I have a two inch hole below the wiper motor almost directly behind the valve cover on the driverside and there is a hole in the tunnel that is very clean on three side and looks like the metal was folded over. The car has the dash and colume setup for colume shift and it has the plate for a 3 speed which looks all to be orignnal.

The ZL2 special ducted hood became available to order as of 1 December 1968 on Camaro Z/28 or SS only. The LM1 engine option was dropped at that time. I'm sure a dealer could have installed one.

Air Spoiler Equipment was available on any 1969 Camaro. A factory dual exhaust coupe will have a reinforcing plate tack-welded to the LH rear frame rail for the tailpipe hanger. The hole in the tunnel for a 4-speed shifter was cut with a torch; looks crude.
