X77 Trim
« on: July 08, 2007, 05:35:33 PM »
Would an X77 car come with the chrome wheel opening moldings, chrome quarter panel louvers, and the bright roof drip rails? I thought these were X33 trim?

Thanks Ed. It does. I just see so many cars on e bay with "incorrect" stuff, that after a while I begin to think it's me.

Jimmy,

Don't feel bad. I know exactly what you mean. I collect the VIN's and Trim Tag info on all the ebay cars (1968) for the CRG database. I've only been doing it for 4 months so far, and what I've found is that EVERY car is either an SS or a Z28 (Including a lot of 12337 VIN'S!!) and EVERY car has Z28 stripes, no matter what the car is! I't so refreshing to periodically come upon a plain jane 6 cylinder or base V8 that's not been cobbled up! I almost had a heart attack the other day when an unrestored (ORIGINAL OWNER!!) 327 car came along. Orignal paint, original interior, original engine!!! Original everything! It sure looked nice.

I'm so tired of seeing front and rear spoilers on EVERY car, Z28 stripes (ESPECIALLY with SS emblems) on EVERY car, Center Consoles on EVERY car and Houndstooth interiors on the majority of these cars. Cookie-cutter restorations. It sure gets old after awhile.

I actually do have a fairly original 69 Z which I've had for 25 years, but I think if I ever tried to sell it, (I won't)  half the population would probably think I am a fraud or a liar!
Been told many times it can't be a Z without tach/gauges, no such thing as a rally sport Z, etc., etc.
