BB intake manifold
« on: June 25, 2007, 01:02:58 AM »
Need assistance in finding out which cast iron intake fits BB heads number 3917215.  Have tried intake numbers 3931067 and 3883948.  From what I can read these heads were put on BB from 67-69.

Thanks for your help,
 Greg

Any oval-port intake should work with those heads.

As a point of reference I cross-checked with the NHRA list of accepted manifolds for 396 cubic inch, 325 and 350 horsepower engines.  The 1967 and 1968 engines had an approved casting number of 3883948 and the 1969 version of the same engines had the 3931067.  I suspect that there are some detail differences between the two because there are differences between the years on small blocks as.  Mainly the difference was in the use of an oil filler tube, a feature deleted on the 1969 manifold.

Disclaimer:  NHRA's list, while very informative, can not be used as a final authority on anything pertaining to part originality.  Political and economic pressures over the years have diluted the accuracy of many specifics substantially.

Early oval port intakes also featured a Holley flange on 360hp applications.  There is a "Holley" name clearly embossed on the top of one runner.  These will fit as well.

I would suspect the '067 is the one you are after.  I have a few of them here..........

Right!  I always forget the "Holley" manifold.  The casting number on that one was 3866948.
