Convertible Top
« on: June 01, 2007, 03:31:56 PM »
I currently have a manual top on my 1968 Camaro. I want to convert to a power top. I've priced the motor, hoses, hydraulic lifts, wiring harness & switch. Is there anything else? Anything I should be aware of? I'm thinking the top is the same, whether it's a power or manual.

The top frame itself is different for a power top.

OK,   Thanks John.
I did some more research & checked out some discussions on the same topic over at Team Camaro.
There was a few people who felt it was better to keep the manual top, so over the weekend I lubricated all the joints and now it goes up & down really easy, ....... and fast. They were right. I think I'll keep the manual top. The money I would have spent can go towards other things.

Thanks
Jerry
