1969 L6 hardware
« on: May 03, 2025, 12:16:58 AM »
Looking for some advice.  Restoring my parents '69 L6 (nothing fancy but priceless to me...original engine, tranny, rear axle, even have the POP), generally I have good luck finding what I need & replacing some components back to what would have originally been on the car (numbers wise, like the correct booster or carb) & the CRG site has been in-valuable.  I'm running into trouble finding correct hardware for engine components, alternator, starter, power steering, etc.  Lots of places sell chassis hardware and many sell some V8 stuff, but zip when it comes to L6.  The AIM shows the part# but doesn't say what it is (1/2-3" for example).  Is there a way to translate the part# from the AIM to a part description I could then buy specifically?  Or any other thoughts would be helpful, I hate slapping on grade 5 zinc coated hardware from the local farm store.

Have you checked AMK for a possibility?   https://www.amkproducts.com/

So, many years ago I downloaded searchable AIM and AMK catalog to use the part numbers cross reference list to identify bolts.  But now the AMK site is throwing errors on my malware scanner, so I cannot see the catalog link.  I wonder what is happening at AMK?
