Serpentine belt setup for a big block
« on: April 19, 2007, 11:14:55 PM »
I purchased a GM serpentine belt setup (part # 12498733) for my 502 big block in my 69 Camaro.

However, the AC sits too high.  I would like to keep a stock appearance and don't want any chrome or billet stuff.  Are there any recommendations for lowering the bracket or maybe a bracket kit I can buy and still use all of my pulleys and components.

Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.

Okay, here is the solution I used.

I found the brackets all over the place at the local junkyard.  I got mine from a 90's blazer for $40 for the brackets, idlers pulley, other pulleys and tension pulley. (Bring a steering pulley puller).

Anyway, the setup installed quite easily and I have a very nice stock look to my 502.  The setup also fits nicely with just enough clearance for the dual spal fans and the be cool radiator.

If anyone else if looking for an inexpensive serpentine setup for their BB, I do recommend this.
